Mint Peach Pottery at Sweet Relish

by Landis Carey on May 14, 2012

Last week was pretty predictable considering life with our sweet little newborn—sleepless nights, diaper changes, spit up…you get the picture. But there was one really unexpected milestone that had nothing to do with baby wipes or leaky diapers but everything to do with Baby Everett: Mint Peach Pottery’s first placement in a Maplewood retail store!

Yup, that’s right, Mint Peach Pottery is now available at Sweet Relish in Maplewood. It’s a small boutique food store located on a prominent corner in Maplewood Village that sells not only delicious breads, pastas and other artisan finds but really great kitchen wares and cookbooks, as well.

We…me and my mom with Baby Everett in tow…stopped by the store’s opening last Friday. It was bustling with excited shoppers who were there to peruse the wares and catch a glimpse of the rehabbed space.

I mention this milestone has everything to do with Baby Everett because it was during my pregnancy that I was inspired to create the very forms that caught shop owner Mary Vayas’ eye last December at a Pop Up Art Sale. So, it was absolutely fitting that Everett’s first visit to Maplewood Village was for such an event!

Look above, friends, Mint Peach Pottery beautifully displayed with other kitchen wares and artisan foods. Oh goodness, my heart still skips a beat looking at these images. How exciting, I can barely contain myself! I’m absolutely flattered to be apart of this sweet new venture!

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying sunny weather and blue skies! Please forgive me for being away last week, I’m totally adjusting to being a new mom and all that goes along with such an important job! XO

Thank you! By the way, I’m still working on my socks :) I hope to be in the store soon for a summer-weight project!

My friend told me about your blog today and thought I’d pop by to say hello. I also live in Maplewood. Congratulations on being a part of Relish. I plan to stop in tomorrow for the first time. Your ceramic pieces are very nice.

Hi, Nancy, welcome! So happy you introduced yourself. I hope you enjoy Sweet Relish, it really is such a cute store. I’m thinking about a Maplewood bloggers’ lunch – there are several of us around town (I’m sure you know a few, as well) and it would be really nice to hear from other local writers. Take care!
