Fabric Hunting at Purl Soho

Lotta Jansdotter fabric

Yesterday I headed to Purl Soho for a peek at the new line of Lotta Jansdotter fabrics they’ve recently stocked. I anticipated totally falling in love with them — since I heart everything she designs — but it didn’t quite turn out that way. Since I was seeking a seasonally-colored napkin fabric that would coordinate with the black and white ticking tablecloth and placemats I made earlier this year, I realized her new fabrics were a little too organic to coordinate with the linens I’ve already sewn. Sad, yes, but I love what I chose!

I wound up going with a reasonably-priced orange and white graphic pattern. The orange leans less to the earthy side and more to the vibrant yellow spectrum than the Lotta Jansdotter fabrics, so paired with navy during the summertime they’ll work indoors and out and they’re a perfect addition to this year’s holiday table settings.

I need to find some good fabric places as I now have a sewing machine to work on little projects. I can’t wait to become an expert sewer (not sure if that is a real word haha).
