Wallpaper as Art

by Landis Carey on October 28, 2011

I’ve been pondering our master bedroom for months. Paint? Paint and paper? Everyday I wake with a new thought, making me so glad I haven’t yet made any decisions!

My latest vision both satisfies my growing obsession with texture and pattern while also addressing a concern I had about maintaining a unified space: Creating an artful, accent wall of pattern using a bold, graphic wallpaper — the vision is wall paper as art — and keeping the majority of the other walls a light neutral to maintain consistency throughout the second floor bedrooms, where each room is in eyeshot of the others.

This is my dream today. What will it be tomorrow?

I hope everyone has fun weekend plans involving fall activities, friends and yummy food! Tell us, what’s on the agenda?

I just ordered the top/ 3rd wallpaper pattern pictured for our master bedroom this morning (before coming across this post randomly). It’s called Petal Pusher and I went for it in white and gold. It’s actually going inside our bedroom closet. Did you ever pick anything for your bedroom?

Hi Kendal! We’re waiting until later this year to order wallpaper for our master but I’ve decided upon Petal Pusher in the dark gray and gold. We just finished painting our master – pics to come this week! Have you hung the paper yet? Would love to hear how it turned out!
