Frames from Our Weekend

by Landis Carey on October 17, 2011

This weekend was all about color. And texture. And friends. And food.

Waking up Saturday morning to blue sky and cooler temperatures was the perfect setting to prepare a feast for friends who visited that night. Dinner consisted of pulled pork sandwiches, the best coleslaw ever and pumpkin pie, baked from the puree I made last week. We ate, carved pumpkins and talked plans and ideas until we were exhausted and falling asleep.

While spending time in the kitchen on Saturday, where the windows overlook the backyard, I fell for the fall colors dancing about. A wind would blow every so often sending more leaves onto the green grass that was already drenched with color, light and texture. It was a perfect fall day and I’m glad had the sense to spend time in the hammock soaking up the season’s fleeting colors.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend! Tell me, what were the sights, sounds and tastes of your weekend?

The way you wrote this post is so lovely. I, too, fell for the glorious fall color dance this weekend. I hope it continues for several more weeks!
