Great Point Lighthouse in Nantucket, MA

After an exciting week of mother nature’s adventures, we decided to head out and enjoy what remained of our delayed vacation. We survived the hurricane and the earthquake and so did our tall but tiny house. Our charming town, though, is still without water and some parts, without electricity. We feel so lucky to have maintained power throughout the storm; otherwise, it’s certain our sump pump would’ve failed and our basement would have flooded.

As soon as the roads cleared and trees stopped falling, we packed up, headed out and then finally breathed a sigh of relief upon arriving at the ferry to Nantucket. I hope everyone is also taking a little downtime this weekend to enjoy the late summer season. It’s the best time of year: when you know the days will continue to shorten and the leaves will soon change, but just now, for a moment longer, the sun is still strong and capable of dimming your worries and to-do’s.

Happy long weekend, friends! I look forward to seeing you on the flip side. XO

Glad to hear your house survived the hurricane! A lot of Ridgewood was flooded but our little home escaped unscathed. Hope your long weekend on Nantucket is full of plenty of sand, sun and seafood.
