A Backyard Bouquet Inspired by Studio Choo

by Landis Carey on August 15, 2011

Last week, while in San Francisco, I was lucky to spend a little time with Jill of Studio Choo. I’ve mentioned them here before; they are my absolute favorite floral designer! Their natural, wiry style and bouquets of local foliage celebrate simple, seasonal living. Their aesthetic is refreshing and sweet and truly highlights the every day.

After just spending a little time with Jill, I was inspired to head outside and bring our outdoors in. So, that’s just what I did this weekend. Right now the Black-Eyed Susans and Hydrangeas are in full bloom, so I snipped the ones at their peak, cleaned their stems of leaves and assembled a simple backyard bouquet.

I absolutely love the little slice of our garden adorning our breakfast table. It celebrates our outdoors, inside, with it’s local, seasonal and completely affordable blooms.

What’s growing in your garden that you can bring inside?

oh this is making me nostalgic for Bulgaria…hundreds of black-eyed susans literally jump out onto the road from the side of the highways where they grow. they’re one of my favorite flowers. lovely arrangement!

What a special memory, Kayla. So glad you shared it with us :) I love black-eyed susans, as well! There’s nothing that says late summer quite like they do.
