Frames from Nantucket: Foggy Day Stroll

by Landis Carey on July 7, 2011

Yesterday was one of those days where many hours were spent devouring a book. I finished one and read well into another. I’ve been craving a day like that for some time. So enjoyable. And the day was really foggy. The clouds rolled in early, first as fog then later as rain. Our little cottage served us well; its great-for-lounging couch was comfy enough for us both to relax as we flipped the pages of our novels only to break every-once-in-a-while to share an idea about this or that.

Around five we headed out for a stroll, making our way to a nearby sandwich shop. Even though the day was foggy and sleepy the textures and colors surrounding us seemed to pop. Here are a few frames from our foggy day stroll.

I hope everyone is having a great week! It’s almost Friday again…how is the time passing so quickly?!

Hi, Emily! Thanks for the wishes about our vacation. Where are you guys headed in August?

While we were away I read two books — James Frey’s latest called The Final Testament of the Holy Bible (chosen not by me but by my book club) and also The Paris Wife which is a story about Ernest Hemingway’s first wife Hadley. Both were good but I’d recommend the second over the first, for sure! XO
