Friday Etsy Favorites

by Landis Carey on May 13, 2011

I love Etsy. It’s a great place to discover vintage décor and affordable, original art. I know you have to rummage through lots of bad to get to the good, but perhaps that’s why I love it. It’s like an always open rummage sale that’s constantly being stocked with new inventory…what’s not to love about that?

We’re in market for new bedding and I’m loving this Matelasse Coverlet for sale. It’s not the right size but its texture and pattern are inspiring.

Isabelle Abramson is stealing my heart with her Simple Serving Bowl. Priced at $100, it’s a little expensive. However, she puts so much time and detail into her work, they will one day be collectibles and can command higher-than-average prices.

Hello, Chevron Pixel Tea Towel from Pigeon Toe Ceramics. You’re so beautiful that I would hate to wipe the counters with you. Perhaps you should adorn the wall in a framed display instead?

Fenton Art Glass was founded in 1905 in Martin’s Ferry, Ohio. In 1939, Fenton began selling Hobnail items in milk glass. Hobnail milk glass would become the top-selling line and would allow the Fenton company to expand. Don’t you just love what you can learn from Wikipedia?

Now sure why Fenton milk glass has become my most recent obsession, but it has. These two pieces—the Milk Glass Hobnail Pedestal Bowl atop and the White Milk Glass Cake Stand above—are for sale on Etsy. I’m dying to purchase them, but since we’re Living with Less, I’ll refrain.

We know I can’t resist Russel Wright’s American Modern, especially when it’s a Celery Dish that looks like and is colored like celery.

A recent addition to Red Tile Studio’s collection, this piece titled Pink Sunshine is 5 inches by 5 inches and is $28. It’s just adorable. If you’re not familiar with their work, click over and explore. A collection of their pieces would be adorable in a child’s room, bath or kitchen, right?

I’ve been admiring this 1970′s bulbous bulbous vase for weeks. I’m surprised it’s still available. Just love it!

Happy Friday, Friends! I hope you enjoy these favorites, they’re just a few things I’ve been finding my way back to as I peruse Etsy. XO

Thank you so much for featuring my vintage hobnail pieces! I love hobnail milk glass as well. I’ve only managed to keep one of the cake stands for myself…no pedestal bowl in my collection yet (but I think the next time I come across one of those pedestal bowls I just might have to save it for myself).
