Hello, Beautiful Lamps by Sarah Foote

by Landis Carey on April 21, 2011

Hello, lovelies. Might I add you to our third floor craft space for coziness or our master bedroom for ambiance? In the words of dear hubby, yes, please.

Sometimes I just can’t help but share what I find inspirational, especially when such items are made locally and to order. These lamps were hand made by Sarah Foote in Brooklyn. The pendant in the image directly above and the one below were constructed from delicate strips of white maple veneer (above) and white ash veneer (below).  The Hydrangea Lamp pictured atop is assembled from hundreds of hand-stamped ash veneer circles. All pieces are treated to prevent discoloration from sunlight exposure.

These must cost a fortune, right? Not entirely, but the prices won’t beat what you find at Home Depot.

The Hydrangea Lamp atop is the most expensive at $649. But I think it’s a fair price considering the detail and labor required. The Seaweed Lamp in the middle is $349 while the Spaghetti Lamp above is most affordable at $299.

So, I’ll file these away for when we’re in market. Until then, I hope you enjoy!

Of course, my favorite is the Hydrangea one — why oh WHY can I never like the least expensive thing on the page??? Thanks for sharing – these are beautiful! I can picture one in my guest room, for sure!

That’s the one that caught my eye, too. I just fell for it. Oh so lovely. And it would be perfect in your guest room!
