Décor Hunting Find from Peg and Awl

by Landis Carey on February 27, 2011

Take a look at these super fun bookends I picked-up at the American Craft Council show in Baltimore on Thursday. I’m totally in love with not only these sturdy “mug shots” but also the owners of Peg and Awl. Outgoing and funny, this Philadelphia-based husband and wife duo artfully craft all of their wares from reclaimed materials; all pieces are purposeful and quirky, no doubt adding a touch of handmade to any space.

Since we have so many cookbooks, I decided to put a few on display, as shown here against our Surf Blue dining room, which I’m now convinced (after several days of working with possible complimenting grays) that it’s very close to a Peacock Blue.  More on paint color to come; I hope you’re not bored of my laborious paint color decision-making process yet!

Hi! Thanks for stopping here. So nice to meet you guys! I’ll keep you posted about Alison’s house tour, which will feature her mug shots! Yes, I LOVE cooking and baking and all things kitchen! I have a bunch of these really large, heavily-constructed cook books that I love seeing with the new bookends.
