Sail Cloth Pillows from Etsy Shop Reiter8

by Landis Carey on February 14, 2011

For hubby’s birthday (he’s a Valentine’s baby!), we spent the weekend sailing off the California coast. Besides the great relief felt from disconnecting for a few days, I once again fell in love with sail cloth—clean lined, durable and textured with stitch, sail cloth is really beautiful.

While I’m not convinced sail cloth belongs in abundance in the interior of our home, these pillows might be really great for a porch or sunroom in warmer months. Made from recycled sails, they are $48 each from Etsy Shop Reiter8.

Landis, I am obsessed with things made from recycled sails. I don’t actually have any of them, but I still love to look & will probably put some on my porch eventually. There’s a store here in Annapolis called Re-Sails that started from using old sails to make bags. They have great stuff: http://www.resails.com/the-original-recycled-sail-seabags.php?s=&c=46&d=63&q=1&p=50&w=21&r=Y

Ohhh…I LOVE it. What a neat store! Thanks! A definite must-see when I’m in Annapolis next.
